As you walk along this section of the beach, you hear the lapsing of waves against the shoreline. Strangely, these sounds seem to echo back from the sea. The waves seem much smaller, too. As you peer through the thick fog, just at the limit of your vision, you seem to see a large area that appears slightly darker than the surrounding horizon.
For the DM:
The thick fog all but completely conceals the larger island. Crossing this expanse of ocean may not be easy, but any unburdened character with swimming proficiency should be able to make it. Though it is not deep (30' maximum), 150 yards of open water separate the two beaches. One check for the random encounters in the table should be made for each group swimming the crossing. There is a 15% chance of encounter. Once a dolphin occurs as an encounter, no checks should be made for the next full hour, no matter how many crossings are made (dolphins are quite protective and will escort the characters).
